The Registry
How does the Registry work?
The Registry is operated by the Public Authority and serves Yolo County’s IHSS consumers by giving them a referral list of home care providers who can best meet their needs. A computer program matches consumers with providers according to location, language, domestic and personal care needed, work schedule, and other job related needs and preferences. The consumer is the employer – NOT the Registry - and will interview, hire and supervise the worker they chose from the referral list.
Registry Staff:
- Gather information about needs and preferences of both consumer and provider applicants
- Interview references to screen the provider applicant
- Evaluates drug and alcohol test, fingerprint test, and TB test information for the provider applicant
- Determine whether the provider applicant meets the Registry requirements
- Use computer matching to create specialized referral lists for each individual consumer
Services through the Public Authority can be requested in English, Spanish, or Russian.
Registry services and referral lists are free for all individuals who have been approved for In-Home Support Services.
